Brad Pitt has told his grandmother that he will not marry Angelina Jolie . The actor telephoned his 83-year-old gran, Betty Russell, and told her he will not wed his new love as he is still not over his divorce from Jennifer Aniston .
Betty told Britain's Star magazine: "Brad promised his wife on their wedding day they'd be together, and they didn't make it. He is a sensitive soul who just wants to make sure he can keep his promise this time around."
Betty has also revealed how happy Brad is being a dad.
The 'Troy' star celebrated the arrival of his first biological child, Shiloh Nouvel, in May, and has become a legal guardian to Angelina's two adopted children, Maddox and Zahara.
Betty said: "Brad has always wanted to have children and he is playing the father role very well. Yes, the family loved Jennifer. But he has got Angelina now and seems very happy."

The National Ledger is reporting that since their return to the states after Angelina Jolie gave birth to baby Shiloh, that she and Brad Pitt have rarely been seen in public together.
Angelina Jolie is giving interviews to Anderson Cooper and just a few weeks later, Brad Pitt is in with Ann Curry.
Brad is spotted all around Los Angeles tooling on his bike, but Jolie is rarely viewed outside of the compound. So what is really happening with them?
Meanwhile, sources tell Star magazine that Jennifer Aniston mistakenly called out Brad Pitt's name while she was shacking up in the bedroom with fiance Vince Vaughn during lovemaking.

Man, I got kids now," the 42-year-old actor said in an interview that aired Monday on NBC's "Today" show. "It completely changes your perspective. And certainly takes the focus off yourself, which I'm really grateful for."
"I've had my day," Pitt said. "I made some films and I've really had a very fortunate life. And it's time for me to share that a bit."
Pitt and his partner, Angelina Jolie, have three children, 6-week-old Shiloh, 18-month-old Zahara and 4-year-old Maddox. Jolie, 31, has traveled the globe as a U.N. goodwill ambassador.
"I'm so tired of thinking about myself. I'm kinda sick of myself," said Pitt, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in 1995's "Twelve Monkeys." His screen credits also include "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" with Jolie, "Legends of the Fall" and the upcoming "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford."
"Best thing I ever did," he said. "You know, you can write a book, you can make a movie, you can draw, paint a painting, but having kids is really the most extraordinary thing I've ever taken on."
"And, man, if I can get a burp out of that (baby), that little thing," said Pitt, referring to daughter Shiloh, "I'll feel such a sense of accomplishment."

Actor Brad Pitt and high-profile architects on Friday urged New Orleans to think green, selecting a series of environmentally friendly housing projects they hope to build in the hurricane-hit city.
Flanked by prize-winning architect Thom Mayne and Pam Dashiell, president of the neighborhood association in the Holy Cross area where the first project is slated to be built, Pitt said construction and housing were major sources of pollution.
"There is a real opportunity here to lead the nation in a direction it needs to be going, and that is building efficiently," he said.
At the same time, Pitt said he was shocked and disturbed to see how slowly New Orleans was recovering from Hurricane Katrina, which hit nearly 11 months ago and flooded 80 percent of the city.
Pitt underwrote and chaired the design competition for environmentally friendly housing with the goal of creating a template for New Orleans.

Brad Pitt reportedly used to ask his sweetie Angelina Jolie to marry him on a daily basis. But now it is being reported that the handsome Hollywood A-lister has decided that it's a lost cause at least for now as obviously Jolie has stuck to her guns and has decided to be a single mom.
In Touch reports that a friend has told the magazine, "Brad just stopped asking," "I would never say never, but this wedding is probably not going to happen anytime soon."

Meanwhile, Angelina reportedly offended her 'in-laws' by refusing to dress her new daughter in the clothes they bought her.
She is said to have balked at the pink, frilly outfits Brad's parents, Bill and Jane, splashed out on.
A source said: "Angelina knows her own mind and knows how she wants her children dressed. She doesn't like girlie, pink, frilly clothes. You can see that by how she dresses Zahara. She doesn't want her babies dressed like dolls."
The source added: "I don't think she realises how much she has upset Brad's family."
